So after quite some time in development the first big site from the Konch stables is http://www.beautifullymusic.com/ is now live. I designed it over 8 months ago and because of such a long gestation period it’s code base has changed quite a bit since I first started putting those designs into HTML. The biggest change occurred after discovering Perch. Perch is a (really little) CMS you can install on your web server and it allows you to define editable regions within your HTML pages, much like Adobe’s Contribute. Unlike Adobe’s Contribute it’s much easier to implement and far cleaner - it also has very prompt and reliable support in the form of Drew Mclellan.
I had planned to build the site in Wordpress after having built, portions of the TBG London site and the slightly smaller http://www.antiques-valuer.co.uk/ but Perch proved to be just right for the sites needs. Wordpress would have just been overkill.
It’ll be interesting to see if it continues to meet them as the site continues to grow and develop.
